Also on this trouble code chart why does it have an error for EEC VOLTAGE REFERRENCE also a fault for BRAKE TEST?
IDK what to say other that maybe some people should give their 2 cents like I do and walk away and let the OP absorb info presented and go outside to the truck w/phone in hand but no someones always gotta nitpick on someone...........This time Im standing my ground because it seems others have opinions of others based on envy I feel is happening in this instance...LOL
Everyone hates the guy with the bigger brain and possibly the bigger bank account too...even chicks who try n be slick...They always trip up and get caught by the smart ones....LOL
KOER TEST>>>>>>>>>>>READ #6....Why do they say to hit the brakes while turning wheel?????????????????

The computer (PCM ) is looking for the Brake On/Off (BOO). It's not really related to the RABS systems or the 4WABS for the Bronco. It's only looking to see if you depressed the brake pedal. It is an input to the PCM. This was introduced when the trucks/Bronco got the E4OD transmission. Later trucks, not the Bronco, this signal was used for the 4R70W trucks and most likely cars. It's designed to shut off the torque converter lock-up clutch.
Does not apply to 1996 and earlier F-Series/Broncos. The same applies for 1997 and earlier F250HD and F350 trucks. It does apply for the 1997 F250 that was a rebadged 1997 F150 which is a different animal.
I just found this unattached connector looking around for the RABS items.
The wires are black, green/white stripe, and yellow.
Can anyone identify this?
Thanks, y'all.
Prof:
I can’t see the side of the master cyl, but that looks to me like it may be the level indicator connector, if it is it should connect to the LH side of the master cyl. I believe that will cause the light to come on if disconnected.
The Rabs control module is behind the glove compartment, completely separate from the ECM.
I have a set of 1996 FSM, if you need anything posted up from them, please feel free to ask.
Aurora, I believe what you are referring to about the recall is for the cruise control, top forward connector in the picture.

Good call on the float switch connector. When the master cylinder fluid level is low the red Brake lamp will turn on as well as yellow ABS. With it disconnected is anyone's guess.

the 97 f250 light duty was a little more beefy than a 97 f150 wasnt it?

You are correct but my point was it is a later generation truck that had more systems integrated into the PCM (computer). I have never owned one to know for sure if ABS codes can be retrieved via the data link to the computer as it was suggested in an earlier post in this thread. That does not apply to the OP's truck at all.
Surgemaster, you have less than 250 posts (as of this writing). RLA has over 17,000. You shouldn't be so quick to dismiss his advise.
My advise to the OP - pull the fuse for the RABS and also pull the ABS light bulb out to disable the system. It's more trouble than it's worth, and the brake pedal dropping out from under your foot during a panic stop only induces more panic.

Idk jas, hes coming up quick (Lol) on his 17000. but joking aside, correct. wisdom and experience hands on may not be 100% accurate but as we all know the printed and published book learning isnt either, however, thats when eggheads like him or myself need to cohabitate the information with the experiences of others rather than combat or dismiss. usually between the two things you can get a pretty darn good answer when they come together.
it kinda is more or less Brain dump and run and confusion for the other side atm LOL
