Replacing the spark plugs should have been easy but the first one I pulled out had a Heli-Coil on it. Ugh. That is not going back like that. That was the only one that had thread issues. I bought the Cal-Van spark plug thread repair tool and it worked great. There was an aftermarket coil and the others looked like the original OEM. Even though there were not any known issues with them I opted to replace them all with new Motorcraft coils. It runs much better now. Smoother idle and more power probably mostly from fixing the non sealing plug.
I replaced the shocks with KYB Gas-A-Just Monotube because I got a deal on them but I'm not happy with them as there is more bounce than I would like. What do you guys recommend for more dampening? Bilstein B6 series?
^^^I run the Blistein short wheel base motor home shocks on both an '03 E-250 & '05 E-350, each with the extended body. These are very stout compared to the standard Bilstein shocks called out as OEM replacements in the so-called heavy duty versions, not the "comfort" variants. Front: 33-187570, Rear: 33-176857. I do run Hellwig front and rear sway bars for the same motor home chassis.
