Per title, I erase the code 34 in memory and it always comes back in memory. I have never had a code come back in memory every time I use the truck so I want to make sure I test properly. I did test the EVP by disconnecting the connection and the vacuum line and started the engine. I do feel vacuum with my finger indicating the EVP is stuck open from the one test I read. I have replaced the EVP in the past. I have recently put a new EGR solenoid on that cleared another code I had. Truck seems to run good and idle good. Fuel has purged from the front tank fill neck twice recently. Not sure if a stuck EVP would cause that but filling problems are mentioned with a faulty EVP. I see where cleaning the EGR might help. With this info, what is the best way to go about resolving the 34 in memory. Thanks
I wonder if your issue is the pintle/stem of the EVP, is slightly longer than need be, and thats why your getting that its above closed volts(0.67v), a couple members had this issue, when they got the wrong one, not just the wrong motorcraft brand, which there's 2 of 1-black, 1-lt grey, I cant seem to find the thread, it was, they ended up filing down the end(pintle/stem) and code went away. Check voltage instead of resistance, may not be opening the EGR enough to cause issues, like theirs did. Fuel Injection Technical Library » EGR Valve Position sensor (EVP)
I was referring to the Purge solenoid when I said EVP. That's where I had vacuum with the purge solenoid and vacuum line disconnected and the engine running. I read I should not have had vacuum.
