Check engine light comes on randomly and usually last about 3 - 5 seconds and then goes off. May stay off for several minutes but eventually does it again. Bought a reader and found code 327. I see that it is EGR related. I've only had the truck 2 months and see that it has a new EGR unit installed and was done at a shop a couple of months ago according to the service records that came with the truck. I've looked at the green vacuum line and it appears to be in good shape. What can I do to find what's causing the code?
When a code is set, it can point directly to a faulty component, or it can be indicating that something is pushing the suspect component outside it's normal operating range. In the case of an EGR valve, the problem could be in the electrical connections or it could be deteriorated plumbing. Check all the related hoses. make sure you have an EVTM on hand for reference.
Code 327 indicates the closed EGR feedback signal is too low. You never indicated if the Code was displayed in the KOEO tests, CM display or KOER. If it is from CM (Continuous Memory) that means it has happened in the past. Try clearing the codes then drive the truck again to see if it returns.
If it does return then get a meter to measure the EGR position signal from the EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor (Key On, Engine Off). Should be above 0.2 VDC.
Code was taken KOEO. I'll clear the code when I get home and see if it returns. Thanks a ton for the help.
Edit: Is the EVP sensor the one the green vac hose connects to at the coil bracket?

No, the green vacuum line is for the EGR valve, it's vacuum operated. The EVP sensor sits on top of the EGR valve. It sends a voltage feedback signal to the computer PCM.
