I have a strange problem on a 92 F150 with duel fuel tanks. When I flip the switch to the front tank, it appears that my front tank actually empties into the back one. The fuel gauge shows the front one emptying out fairly quickly and the back one fills up. What's going on here? And is this dangerous if I have both tanks full to begin with?

my teacher told me about this. He said to replaced some valves and it would fix the problem. I'll ask him tommarow. Mine did the same thing, except slow enoguh I didn't realize it was happening, so when i switched tanks I had no gas.

 

i have a 93 doing the same thing my rear tank empties into my front and will over flow if i run too long on the rear tank, it is a bad fuel pump in the the tank that overflows. i posted on here a while back and they told me about another post concerning the same problem you can search for it. anyways ther is a fedral saftey recall on ford trucks from like 90 to 93 if you have less than 150,000 mile ford has too fix it ichecked with my local dealer and they said they dont care how many mile the truck has if it has not been fixed they will fix it the just check your vin number to see if the work has been done before.
