I liked the tan interior, but that's personal taste and you've done a great job on that thing. You're right little details really bring it together--touching up the paint on my pedals/shifters and other random interior fixes really helped the overall appearance in there.

Thank you - I'm probably partial to the black because my 72 and 79 both had black interior.
I couldn't get a tan dash pad so I ended up with a black one and that started the ball rolling.

I didn't intend on doing this much to it but once I got started I knew I was doomed.

LOL.... yep, there is NO END to the things you can do to these trucks.

Heck, I have a full set of chrome trim I hope to put on mine, Along with all the dressy parts to doll up my tailgate!

I'm just trying to fix everything that doesn't work.
I wasn't expecting that NOTHING worked.
I still have more parts coming.

Here's my other truck in front of Butch Cassidy's Boyhood Home.
Its a 2011 Chevy with 229,000 miles on it and it still has the original brakes on it.
They are finally due to be replaced, it needs an oil change and the tires rotated.
This will be my priority next week so the '76 may not get as much attention.

I took my truck out for a short ride here in the canyon today.
Still no license plates so I can't go far.

I was coming up the hill in 2nd gear and high range and came around the corner and it got steeper,
had some snow on it and was like a S curve.
I got into it a bit and it dug in and up we went.

This is why I chose the tires that I did.
They are not snow tires.
They are off-road and mud tires.

The 390 2V and the 4.10 gears make for a very nice combination for going off-road.

I'm really starting to like this truck.

Thank you again. I am very fortunate to get to live where I do.
And, I am really enjoying the old truck.

Shipped,
upper and lower radiator hoses (Gates)
new water pump (Gates)
PS and alternator belts (Gates)
thermostat (Gates)
4-u-joints, rear and intermediate drive shafts (Dana/Spicer)
carburetor kit (Borg Warner)
fuel filter & PCV valve (WIX)

Once that is done I'll order new shocks and u-joints for the front axles.
Maybe ne of these days it will be road worthy.

A small hand full of parts showed up today.
The oil and AC Delco brake pads are for my other truck.
A 2011 Chevy 2500HD with 230,000 miles on it and its still running the factory brake pads.

The little back in the middle are little wire pin removal tools so you can take wipers out of their connectors.
Now I can install my new turn signal switch .

Battery hold down bolts and nuts are nice too and so are the new sun visor pins. Both of the old ones are broken.

And my new pintle hook hitch for my recovery strap. You know, for when your friends get stuck and need to be rescued.

I went ahead and ordered the shocks and front axle u-joints.
I wish I could take a week off from work and just get it all done.

Hey, just read thru your refresh and it is looking sharp! Excellent work through and through.

If you ever feel like filming a coldstart video and uploading it to YouTube, I know a lot of us would love to see it!

All the best and look forward to more updates!

Thank you very much. I've been thinking about doing a video of it when I'm done - if that day ever comes.
I have a good friend that could help me make a great video, pictures and all.
The more work I do to it the more I like it.
To be honest though, I had no idea there was soo much wrong with it.
I had seen the truck from a distance but never ever looked inside it let alone drive it.
I basically bought it sight unseen. Sure glad I bought it regardless.
