Well I always hope that the info I post helps someone. I have to remember that a 78/79 wiring is not always like a 73-76. But is beats going on blind looking for wires and power sources. So did you get 2 lights for a special reason? Dual lights in the glove box mod maybe?

We call that, a mistake. LOL

I am going to paint this toolbox the same copper metallic as the truck so I have somewhere to carry my high lift jack, tire chains and other "necessities".

Nothing like an honest mistake. Lol What about a black tool box to give you a color break up?

Made a little progress today.
I got the dome light lens installed and the housing cleaned up a bit.
It really should get replaced but it works and there are other priorities.
And a RED + battery cable.
And my new front park light assemblies installed too.

Make sure if you have the truck door open for a long time working on something, to make sure and pull the fuse or pop the lens and bulb. A fresh bulb can heat cook a new lens faster than one would imagine.

Black, good idea.
Both door jam switches are bad.

FYI door jamb plunger switches and glove box light switches are two different kind.

I replaced my bulb with an LED. Less battery drain and no cooking.

Next week will be a busy one.
Differential gaskets arrived so now I can get all the gear oils changed over
to full synthetic, get my transfer case mounts replaced and my drive
shaft put back in.

I'm not too worried about it. The one in my 79 lasted forever.

I've made my choice, I'm going to leave it as is. If I was to paint it and it looked new it just wouldn't go with the trucks original patina.

I got the rear diff, transfer case and transmission switched over to full synthetic.

The gear oil I drained out was disgusting. The transmission was by far the worst with signs of water in the rear diff.

The teeth on the ring gear didn't look all that hot either but its quiet so I'm good.
I'll replace the ring and pinion when I add the Detroit Locker but that wont be for a little while..
