Anyone know how well Hedman 86651 headers fit? I can’t find much information on them. They are 460/429 fenderwell exit for 4x4 with 2” primaries. I do not have a body lift. Just 4” suspension lift. I have a F150 with dual front shocks. I’m running 35s. I have a manual transmission also. I saw them for sale but I don’t want to do much modifying.
I did not know Headman was making such a product. I have the L&L shorties, but I was very impressed with the build quality. I know MadDog makes some nice headers for our trucks as well.
I have a set of Hedman fenderwell exit headers (not sure of the number) on my no body lift, 4wd 79 F250 351M 4sp. With a 6" Skyjacker and 35's. Easy to install, only had to move the brake line clamp bracket that is on the frame. Easy to finish them off with some header mufflers and turn downs. In some of these pics I had them routed to stacks. I now wish I had gotten the coated ones, but they came in a parts deal NIB. Check out Remflex header gaskets.
I’m guessing the 351 would be easier to deal with than the 460 for room.
I don't have headers but I have looked at going that route, a buddy of mine who has done both said there wasn't a huge difference when we talked about 351M/400 and 429/460 header installs in these trucks? He has given up on trucks, does old farm tractors now.
