New Pics!
Your kit comes with 2 safety switches. One switch you mount on your dash and the second HAS to be mounted on the throttle. I'll take up close photo's to show you exactly where.
The importance of the throttle switch is that you DON'T want to engage the nitrous unless your foot is to the floor, full throttle.
The other switch is connected to the throttle switch. They both need to be engaged for the nitrous to work. These are for safety reasons.
You can operate the nitrous in 2 different ways.
1. You can full throttle your truck and wait until you hit 2000+ rpm, then throw the dash switch.
2. You can throw the dash switch and 3/4 throttle until you hit 2000+ then punch it.
Either way works, you'll just have to practice to see which one you like best.
I prefer to full throttle it first (so my 60 foot times are the best they can be) then flip the dash switch when I hit 2000, which only takes a split second really.
When your shifting, you will be taking you foot OFF the gas to disengage the clutch. When you do this, the nitrous system will shut of because you foot is off the gas. If you try shifting super fast like superman and you miss shift, then apply your foot full throttle again and hit the rev limiter, your in trouble.
Also, If you mean to shift it into 2nd, but you miss and drop it in 4th and full throttle, your in trouble.
Take your time in the beginning. It's ok if you miss shift, just DON'T FULL THROTTLE. 3/4 throttle in the beginning until you know what gear your in, if any at all.
You don't have to speed bang it with the gears, because when that foot hits the floor and the nitrous engages it's going to suck you back into your seat like your launching a space craft.
So take it slow. It's a very fun learning process.
Don't try to learn everything in 1 week. It's impossible. Take you time and have fun.
Start with the little 35 shot. If you screw up with the 35 shot (misshift or something) your not really going to hurt anything because it's not that strong of a boost.
But the 35 shot is where your going to learn everything about nitrous BEFORE you move up to a 50 or 75.
Capice???
Oh, and by the way.
I Just got done doing the high speed trial run. Mind you it's raining out and very very windy so I could only get high speed in spurts, but I was able to reach (with traffic) just under 100mph smooth as a babies buttocks!!! smoooooooth.
wow, worth every penny. I'm glad it worked out. I was worried.
But it's awsome...so, problem fixed...(finally)

If you wait until your ready to run before you turn your bottle on, you really don't need one.
Purge valves are good for those who may leave their bottles on in between races, perhaps because they are not as easy to access as mine.
When I turn my bottle on, it shoots liquid nitrous into my lines. So i'm good to go.
The purge valve is there for when you leave the bottle on and the liquid nitrous, from being in the lines for a bit with the engine hot, begins to evaporate. Well, you get your best spray if your first spray is all liquid.
However, I still plan on getting one once i get bored of my current set up.
This is what is so fun about nitrous. There are so many "Add-ons" you can get, that the fun never stops baby!!!
I was thinking about a problem you might have.
If you view my gallery, you will see how I have my bottle mounted behind my seat in the supercab section. This is great for security purposes as well as convenience in opening and shutting the bottle.
if you have a single cab, you may have to mount you bottle in the bed of your truck.
if that's the case, your going to need an automatic bottle opener.
This automatic bottle opener comes with a kit that also include the blow down valve, bottle heater, and purge valve. I think the kit is 350.00. You may need that.
Also, if your mounting the bottle in the bed of your truck, your going to have to get a tonno cover, you can leave all that stuff out in the rain dude.
so this may be an extra expense for you.
My Extang cover was only 189.00. You may need one.
OOOORRRRR, you can mount your bottle on the passenger floor of your truck. This may be a small inconvenience to passengers but is ok.
Wherever we install it. The bottle MUST be facing forward with the nozzle pointed at the floor. You can't mount your bottle sideways behind the seat.
Tell me what you think about bottle location.
I think the passenger side is the best location. It will save you from having to get the automatic bottle opener and bottle heater.

Strick,
Just remembered, the stock kit does NOT come with a pressure guage. This is stupid, because it's absolutely necessary to have one. You'll have to purchase this seperately, either from Jegs (if they have one in stock) or from NX. NX charges alot more for their parts than Jegs does. I think it's like 40 bucks or something. You have to have the pressure guage because you want to keep your bottle pressure in the green.
Even after a full bottle, if it's cold, will not register in the green. especially in the cold months. I didn't buy a bottle heater because they are 300.00.
Instead, I sealed off all my floorboard heating ducts except for 1. Then I ran a 2 inch tube from the last duct to under my bottle. I wrapped my bottle with a towel to keep the heat in. If I know I'll be boosting during that ride, I'll crank the floor heat on. This will blow the hot air under the bottle and heat it up into the green, and even a little into the red, in just a few minutes.
This is MY idea and I'm going to have it pattented. I bet no body else ever thought of this.
I have pictures of this on my second page of the picture gallery.
......mmmm...i'm so smart.....

Tom
just stuff some rags in the drivers side so it all blows out the passenger side. You may want to run a small tube from the vent to under your bottle, then cover your bottle with a towel to keep the heat in.
In the colder months i'm going to try this.
Since I already have a blanket on my bottle, i'm going to buy a therapudic heating blanket 2' X 2' and wrap my bottle with that and plug it into my inverter. Those blankets get 188 degrees and are only 29 bucks. That should really heat things up in the winter months.
