Did a forum search, results were everywhere but where I wanted. I'm looking for a stage 1 package turbo and injectors. Or any good leads on a page/brand. I always had my 7.3l IDI. I've always kept my 7.3l psd stock. Wanted to get a little more power this time. I'd love some help from yall. I'm working with a 2002 Excursion.
If you really want a package deal, go to kcturbos.com. I think they use FFD injectors, not the "FTE approved" Bitterroot or Rosewood ones. You could piece together a system from several sources, if you wanted best of breed.

Mark
what are you suggesting for best turbo and best injectors?
If you want a turbo you can drop in place of the stock one, kcturbos are the ticket. Borg Warner SXEs are generally considered to be better, but are more of an investment, and not drop in. You'll have to decide, based on your goals and budget.
I'm still running stock injectors, but would call Bitterroot if I was going to upgrade.
One man's drop-in is another man's custom though. If the Excursion's engine is completely stock then it has the donut seal factory up pipes, the EBPV pedestal and other things that will need replacing anyway. If that is the case, going to a T4 kit may not be as painful as it sounds. Like Mark said, please state what your goals are so we may better help you. Give detailed information on intended usage of the vehicle in particular.
It's 100% stock as far as I know. I bought it to make some runs towing 16k trailer from California to Oklahoma. That's all done now, so I wanna keep it for mostly daily. Occasionally towing but maybe never. I'd love to be 150hp over stock or better without getting too deep.
Put your goals to paper...then the people here will guide you through it. I'm pretty pleased with how my mods perform for me...but, they might not be pleasing to others. 150Hp over stock? Get your pocket book open...cuz, there's a bunch of things that can get tore up at 450-500Hp. If that's your goal, @FordTruckNoob can be of assistance. His truck runs strong and he has the dyno sheets to back up the power claims.

Well, new was 250hp, so 400 would be amazing. I don't care about mpg, it's an excursion so not towing heavy. Just a great street truck.
Figure about 2.2cc's of fuel per Hp. So you are going to require about 180cc of fuel. How you get that fuel, well, that's a whole 'nother discussion. @Bitterroot Diesel can help there.
Personally I don’t like to see horsepower number goals. I would prefer a goal be geared towards a certain driving style and usage. I feel like this gives the owner a better end product that matches their actual wants/needs. But to each their own, folks around here can get you to that number if that’s truly what you’re after.
The problem (in my opinion at least) with going after HP is that the more you want the higher the rpm have to go. You can end up moving the powerband up making it feel laggy and smoky but then come on like crazy at some rpm through redline. Some people like it like that and enjoy driving in these conditions. I prefer the power to come on low and and have great tip in throttle response.
I’m still on stock injectors with the truck so take my “advice” lightly.
Ultimately we want you to have the best truck for you.

I don't think it could get much more lag than it has now. Pretty sure my 7.3idi would out 0-60 this thing. I don't remember my dad's 01 f250 being quite this slow but I've had quite a few faster vehicles since then. The memory gets faded at these advanced years.
NEW 160cc injectors. Flow matched by either bitterroot or rosewood. MST (modified stock turbo) riffraff 4+4 compressor wheel with a kc 300sxe turbine wheel. Throw in a hydra and the appropriate gauges ( trans, egt and boost). 6.0 trans cooler. Should be pretty fun over stock I think.
IMO (take it for what you paid), is either AC (160/0) or 160/30 injectors, Hydra tuner, gauges, hutch/harpoon mod, replace old seals, 6634 Intake, SXE 363 T4 kit in addition to other maintenance items is the best all-around setup. I've been through quite a bit to get to this point myself.

General maintenance items would probably help a lot. It likely has some exhaust drive pressure leaks and boost leaks by this point.
Add a set of bellowed uppipes and Riffraff billet wheel to your turbo along with a Hydra tuner.
Or as SRBF150 said, a T4 kit with 363/68 is pretty nice but it all depends on your end goals and budget. If you’re not towing heavy much then you’d likely be happy with the MST.
There’s no comparison between tuned and stock. So if you’re just looking a little more pep then the MST, uppipes, and tuner even with your stock injectors may get you to your happy place.
Thanks for the advice guys. Dropping it off at a shop in okc when I fly out for a few days. Gonna have them check it out and see what they suggest. I'm pretty sure there's a boost leak. Will have them run through it and see what they suggest. At minimum a wicket wheel. That and a hpop woke my dad's truck up a bit. We ran a superchips tuner on his, but that was 12 years ago. I'm sure there's some better tuners since then.
