New to the forum, I have a 1974 f250 highboy that had drum brakes front and back, I swapped the front end out for disc brake front end out of a 1976. My question is do I need to get a different master cylinder and proportioning valve?
The disc brake front end came out of a 1976 f250 4x4 with a auto trans, my 74 has a 4 speed

As many have said, the master needs to be correct. Just find one that pumps fluid. Which ever one you choose a proportional valve will be needed to control the rear bias.
Both disc and drum need residual pressure, but in different amounts. These valves are usually right on the master cylinder where the lines screw in. So research that along with proportioning.
Yes. The reservoirs are different for disc vs. drum. Can you get the MC and valve from the 76' that you got the brakes from?
The truck is no longer available to get parts from anymore,my truck has a duel reservoir mc , a big one and a small one, so can I just buy a mc and proportioning valve for a 76 and install on my truck?
