Oh I was confused. I thought they were referring to just bulbs.
The correct LED bulb in the halogen housing actually works really well. Look at Headlight Revolution, I had theirs on my 2017, once I re-aimed then I didn't get flashed. They made a huge difference and had good cutoff.
Before I put the Morimoto xb’s in my 2020 I was running the supernova V.4 in my stock halogen headlight and fog light housings and was very impressed with the output from them. The weren’t scattered all over and I was never once flashed by an oncoming driver.
save yourself the grief of taking apart a new truck to only save maybe $1200 after all said and done. While led bulbs do exist they don’t have the same pattern and quality of a light meant to have the led. You’ll also get a little more in trade/sale down the road having the ultimate instead of aftermarket stuff that in the real world devalues the truck To a dealer.
Good advice! I will not buy a used truck with aftermarket lights. Heck, I'll pass on it if the truck has aftermarket wheels.
Hikari H13 LED bulb swap and you'll be ecstatic. $150 for four of them, and zero error notifications.
Even the BeamTech LEDs at $30 a set will be a massive improvement over stock halogen.
