Factory Order

Hey everyone! First post here, I am hoping to get some answers since my Dealership isn't keeping me informed on my order. I was approved for a factory order, signed all the paperwork and paid my deposit for a new Ranger in mid-Sep 2021 and we are now in the end of Nov. My salesman said the truck has been ordered. So I asked for a DORA or VOC from the dealer to at least confirm the build in case I wanted to add anything to it or to confirm everything was put in correctly. I've asked this at least 4 times now and even went in person. My salesman said his manager hasn't given anything to him yet. I ordered the truck while they had their incentives for 2021 Rangers and was told it would be built as a 2022, but with the 2021 pricing. So:
  • Why hasn't the dealership given me the proof of ordering and/or the VIN number yet? (they said it would take a few weeks to get the VIN)
  • What has been some of your experiences with factory orders?
My thoughts are that they haven't ordered it yet (because of ordering limits for the dealership) and there is no point because 2022's should begin production in December. Any thoughts? I'm also concerned that they will increase the price that we settled on. I know the incentives are locked, but it says the price may fluctuate once the truck has been built & received?
