I know I am new to this forum but I did a search and couldn't find an answer.
I would like some ideas on where to mount my CB and little BOX inside the cab. I don't have a center console, so that's out.
I was looking at mounting the radio underneath the middle seat compartment. The problems I see with that is #1 The radio would get hot, #2 I can't change channels while driving, this is not a BIG deal since I mostly keep it on channel 19.
The little BOX however, is gonna need some space so it too won't get hot.
What about one of those shelves that go above your windshield? I done know if they still have them, but I got one from cabelas about 18 years ago for a truck I had. It basically mounts where the sun visors mount (then they mount to it) and runs the width of the cab.
Mine was intended for a gun mount, but assuming it would fit (I can't remember the clearances) it should allow you to mount your cb and the "box" that I'm guessing is an Amp. They'd be up and out of the way. It may or may not work, but it's worth looking into.

Yes sir, it is an amp. Do you have a link for the mount , pics , or where you got it?
Someone on some forum used big half inch bolts attached to the cab bracket and removed the center seat headrest, inserted the bolts where the headrest was. This only works if you don’t use your center seat.
Here's a random picture of one from Amazon. If your radio will fit on top it would be a nice, clean install. If it's too big you could bolt it underneath. Either way you're gaining a storage place too.
