Says the sticker on the door.
What transmission is it?
Just had reman motor and transmission installed.
It does not seem to use the OD function?
On expressway, 55mph is tops. Give it gas, engine rpm increases from 2200 to 3000, and starts slowing down.
Any thoughts before I contact installer Monday?

That truck should have a 4R75E, does it have the OD off switch on the end of the gear shift? WIth the way it is functioning some codes would be set so checking codes may give you a hint as to what ois going on.

Yes to the overdrive button.
Going to have to find or replace my code reader.

It is OBD2 at least.
Back soon!
FWIW transmission DTC's are not indicated by the "check engine light" or MIL lamp in the instrument cluster.
Most transmission DTCs are not indicated by the check engine light. Some of them are. If the EPA considers the code to be emissions related it MUST turn on the check engine light. Some transmission failures can be emission related if they put the trans in the wrong gear at the wrong time.
Thanks for the details.
The darn thing went to work and back (60 mile round trip) just fine today. Up down, all around the 45-75 mph range. Local 35 mph areas just fine.
Overdrive does as expected.
Now up to 90 miles on motor/trans.
This is so familiar...
First work truck, 350,000 miles.
35 years in the trades.
Many many miles in E series.
It felt so good.
On a related note, scanners...
what would be an appropriate purchase, general use, with the knowledge that I will find a cruise control steering wheel, and clock spring for CC.
That has to be $100 twords the purchase price of the scanner...
Rather than pay someone else, if you get my drift.
Yeah, drifting in a E250.
May have to check utube.
Forscan with a compatible interface for your device would be my suggestion, this combo will do everything a store bought scanner will do for free and much more with a paid extended licence.
Intermittent transmission problems… i found ecm wiring damage bc of wearing on hot egr tube !

i found damage to wiring harness. Look at harness where it touches egr tube. Mine burned and shorted to ground causing intermittent transmission shift problems.
i made repairs using several 3 foot lengths of similar wire - the location of damage is difficult to reach. So - splice near ecm then other end spliced near transmission. Do one wire at a time. Not exactly easy but can be done very inexpensive.
replacing harness is also not easy. Harness is expensive.
