Swaybar link bolt sheared + shock?
Heard a minor clunk driving home last night (paved road) which prompted me to look under the truck and see that (a) bolt of sway bar link been sheared off and (b) leak of relatively new Bilstein shocks. Not sure what caused the clunk (one of these two things, or even possibly roadkill
I have neither the know-how nor tools to work on this (am on a “worktrip” and a bit remote in AZ).Questions:
How serious are these two issues? Safety? It’s my daily driver (30-40 miles day) and I’m already pretty remote. I can’t find a shop to get into for a few weeks. Can I hobble around on this until I get into a shop, or could this be catastrophic?” Pics below.
Any guidance?
Thanks much!
Yes, the Bilsteins are fully under warranty, and IF it can wait (safely) I’ll take it back to the same shop in a few weeks. Safety and time (in the interim) are more of a concern to me than the $ part right now. Thoughts?
