Engine control fuse keeps blowing
So despite the advice of Sous, Which sous, I was going to follow through with as a second step..
I Took apart one of my bad fuses to pull apart a Fuse prong. I put it on the dark side of Fuse position #22. I put an alligator clip on it and ran it to the positive side of the battery with a Test Light in between. I start to pull all the components that were on the wiring Diagram that was provided on this thread (thank you). I started with the easiest. I pulled the brake pressure switch harness, Light was still bright. Then I proceeded to the glow plug relay, took all four/five wires off the relay. Look in the CAB, light still bright. I went to go and reinstall wiring on the GPR, and wam, I saw it. It was a pinched ground wire going to the GPR. I freed the wire and Wella, light went to dim. I repaired the wire, and replaced Fuse 22, Moment of truth turning the Ignition, no pops from down Under.. The WTS light came on and went out as normal (wasn't doing this with the blown fuse), started the truck and currently have no issues..
Questions: what is the name of the component in which the wire is pinched/sandwiched.
I had work done to this truck in the last two months. Work done to the turbo for a stuck EBPV Valve. I think this was mechanic error. If you look at that component that pinched the wire, the nut holding it on looks new, I'm sure they lost that in their work. I think they removed it possibly to get to the turbo plenum clamps of something. Ive had this truck since 2018. I think it unlikely that it took that long to cause an issue when it originally blew last Friday and worked until Thursday. Work was done in September. They didn't replace the oil filler cap, it was sitting on the fill location and they left a Can of brake fluid in the cattle catcher, just a careless Shop..
My frustration is that if I would have had this truck towed to their shop for this issue they would have charges me about 300 to diagnose and repair an issue I'm pretty sure they created. I think they would have called it a Faulty GPR to free the wire, they would have replaced it and billed accordingly. They have a reputation in town, I think I have to be done with them..
Anyway, I'm going to bring them aware of this issue. If someone could let me know the name of that component that would be great, see Pic..
Thanks again
You don't have a GPR (glow plug relay), you have a GPCM (glow plug control module). If I am understanding your description and pictures correctly, the GPCM had a pinched wire that you repaired.
Thankfully you didn't have the truck towed to the shop and can use that $300 on something else in your wish list. Your description of the **** poor and substandard work and work ethic is becoming more and more prevalent these days. Lucky for us, the FTE is here to help guide us through our problems, with the truck anyway...
Be sure you use some adhesive lined shrink wrap on that splice and put some wire loom around it if you have some.
Again, well done sir!
And on another note: Please remember to fully put things back together before you move on to the next item! You will only confuse the issues with other issues!
Ask me how i know! LOL

Yes sir for now I just have it Electrical taped and loosely zip tied to keep it out of the way. But will be placing shrink wrap and Loom around wiring next week when I get back from Jacksonville.

Oh my god sous!!! Does this mean my Truck is from California???? No wonder it doesn't know if it wants to be a truck or identify as a driveway ornament!!!
Damn, learn something everyday. In my defense, The GPR and AIH relay look exactly the same. No wonder this GPR I got from Riffraff Diesel wouldn't mount right.. I was going to change that out pro actively today, but decided not to when the Bracket bolts didn't line up...Because I have an AIH relay.. lol Never knew that. well, this AIH relay is also on the Fuse Position then to, and it's not noted on the Electrical diagram.
Thanks for the Education. You are correct, I have an AIH relay... It's old to . Way old, I want to change it before it dies.
Thanks again Sous..
POST POST EDIT: Is the AIH relay The "Manifold Intake Air heater relay"?? If so.. That is indeed on the Electrical Diagram for Fuse Position 22.. When I saw that on the Elctrical diagram I was thinking "some Bitch, I have to find out where the Manifold intake air heater is".. SMH

Yes again, the internet terminology used differs from Ford or International terminology at times. AIH relay and MIAH relay are synonymous.
The AIH/MIAH has a rarely used set of trigger parameters and is often deleted from trucks. Without looking at the wiring diagram, I assume the wire that had a short to ground was one if the small 12v wires. The "mechanic" probably leaned on it or didn't see it under the nut as he was in a hurry.
You learned a bit about your truck and that is a good thing.
