Looking for ideas on how to mount this camera so it doesn’t fall. I’ve tried super glue between the suction plate and window and it didn’t work.
lately the suction has broke from the windshield, camera falls and alarm goes off. It’s a PITA when this happens at 3am!
The black sun screen is embedded in the windshield. so where the suction mount is placed is actually smooth glass.
I bought this rearview mirror mount kit that contains hardware for all kinds of cameras and did away with the suction cup. Trying to suction cup anything to that perforation will cause nothing but frustration. It just doesn't work for very long. Even when I did use suction cups I stuck them just below that perf, as close as I could get to it without being on top of it.
I have a Rexing V10 in the truck that is suction mount, no issues. In our 3 DDs I have Rexing V1p cameras, both front and rear they mount with 3M tape and no issues.
My camera had the option for the suction cup mount or a flat plate. I chose the flat plate and used a round 3m double stick to mount it. Put just the mount up and let it cure for a couple days before putting the camera on. That was about a year ago and no issues, in the exact spot you have yours.
