What is this on my order form? My request was to get the highest tow rating. Should be 20,000. Never plan to tow that much, just like to know I have a buffer. Also to help when we sell it some day. Just want to make sure this does not limit us. It does show that we chose the high capacity tow package.
That means you picked an F-250 with the diesel engine. That combination with the addition of the high capacity tow package raises the GVWR to 10,800lb. Otherwise you would see 10,000 in that place.
Yep, I also ordered an F250 6.7 with the HCTT, which raised my GVWR from 10000 to 10800 lbs. Assuming you went with a 4X4 and either a SC or a CC, you will also have a 20000 lb (conventional) tow rating and a 30000 GCWR. For an F250, this is the most you can get. Check out page 25 from the Towing Guide for all the numbers. If you're interested in 5th wheel/Gooseneck ratings, they are on page 26 of the guide.
Also, your truck will also come with a 3 inch receiver.

Yes 4x4 CC. Thanks for the info. Just checking to make sure the dealership did not mess up.

Also, if it helps any, my truck has a 3016 lb payload rating. I see you went with a Lariat and also have the 5th wheel prep, while mine is an XLT without the 5th wheel prep, so the payload on your's may be a little lower, but not by much, if at all, depending on the rest of your options.
If you run commercially it means your trailer can have a gvwr 15200 without needing a cdl. The less gvwr the tow vehicle has the more gvwr the trailer can have. If your pulling a camper this doesn’t apply, just commercial applications.
I only tow a bumper pull with my SD so I have no experience with a gooseneck or 5th wheel, but that payload seems remarkably low for a 3/4 ton. Is that normal for a diesel? I have a gasser.

Another example of why the '23+ should have its own forum.
This thread only applies to 20-22, that is when a 250 w/6.7l could have up to 10800 GVWR. Prior to that it was limited to 10k, and '23+ can be up over 11k.
The last time I ordered a truck I had to leave OFF the 10,800 (or maybe it was 11,000 in '22) "option". That actually LOWERS the GVRW. To get the max GVWR (in my case 12,400) I DID NOT SELECT any weight package.
I did have a truck once (2018) where I selected the 10,800 weight option and it ended up lowing the overall /GVRW.
I'm not sure that the truck's GVRW is actually any less selecting that option; I think it is more of a sticker weight rating statement to lower your insurance (assuming your insurance company has different rates for 3/4 ton, 1 ton, etc.....
No where is that clear in any Ford documentation and neither the sales rep or sales manager really understood that selection that option lowered the rating.

12400 GVWR means you are talking about an F-350. The 10800 GVWR being discussed here only applies to a 250 w/6.7l. The 20-22 F-250 could have up to 10800 GVWR when properly configured.
