An axle nut deep socket in 29mm or 1 1/8" will work very well. Most part stores will have one on the shelf.

I was lucky enough to have a 3D printed IPR wrench made by an FTE'r sent to me.

I believe some plumbing/faucet wrenches will work too. That is according to @Listor at the link below.

Harbor Freight 1/2" drive deep well 1 1/8th impact socket gets it done. The ratchet isn't able to seat all the way in the socket but it's plenty to do the job.

Got one!!! Advanced auto parts had the 29mm. Axle nut socket. Now with any luck I’ll be done with this mess tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone!

You can actually buy an IPR tool. Fabricating own is also an option.

I got the new IPR installed today. My truck has fired right up multiple times, cold and hot, without issue. I am still seeing ICP below 500, lowest being 460-470, while idling but the truck hasn't died like before. When I romp on the throttle the ICP will top out at 2400. Are these numbers acceptable. I haven't paid attention to the idle ICP but I can push over 3000 ICP on my 1999.

Great to hear that new IPR got her going again. ICP varies with a number of things, from commanded IPR% and pulse width asked for, to injector and HPOP health, so would have to review the driving situation/data. 2400psi could be more than adequate for most situations. I'm on a mission to try to keep ICP above 2700psi with IPR% under 60%, for best power and efficiency, but it's not critical for decent performance in most cases.

If you'd like to log a driving run where you see 2400psi ICP, we could take a look and see what the PCM is asking for in that situation.

I believe mine hovers below 500 at a warm idle. Somewhere around 465-480 maybe? Sorry I don’t watch it that closely. But I did notice the “whisper” tune actually bumped up the ICP to above 500 which surprised me as I was expecting less ICP for the quiet. I have my theories on that but it’s not related to this thread. Lol. Anyhow, the reason I mentioned it was because that’s how I remembered the “normal” ICP was lower than 500 ICP in my case.

Thanks for that info. I was asking because my problem was intermittent, so 3 or 4 good starts didn't have me convinced. I'm also having a hard time getting data files to save on my tablet so I don't have any to share. I do know that the IPR% is 16-17 while just driving along and at idle, and tops out at 35% during heavy acceleration with a pulse width of 3.4-3.6 Just trying to make sure I don't have a weak HPOP masking it's self as an IPR problem.

Thanks again
Chad
