Hello all, I have a 2002 Ford Explorer, when I step on the brake while Im parking or at a slow speed there is a snapping noise coming from the brake pedal, and also when the car is in Park and I step off of the brake pedal there is a spring popping noise...does anybody know what is causing this???
The spring popping sound is the brake-shift interlock. I had a 2002 and it didn't do this, but I have an 04 and it is doing it. I was thinking about bringing it in until I realized what it was. I still may, since I only have 1000 miles on it. I just haven't made the trip yet.
I've also been wondering if maybe it is loud now because it is getting colder out.. I'm also going to try the bypass switch under the steering column to see if it 'resets' it.
As far as the sound when parking and that.. That would concern me. Brinig it in.
