99 explorer want start

My explore will start but shuts right off I replaced the filter and everything worked good but now it is doing it again

can anyone help

Also could be a problem with the fuel pump or computer, my buddy has a 98 and sometimes his wont start, it will crank and crank.....he took it to ford they said the computer was not always sending the signal to the fuel pump to pump fuel to the engine, they said he needed a new computer....dont know how true it is hes getting an opion from a machanic not a ford dealler, hes hoping it just a rely

It was the EGR valve
