Who, besides me, has checked their speedometer accuracy?
Checked mine over the weekend on a couple of different 100 mile stretches of interstate, and came up showing 98.3 miles on the odometer for 100 miles travelled.
So, short by 1.7%, and it seems about what the speedo is showing as well when in radar zones, 70 MPH on the speedo showing 71 on the radar.
Now, back when I had my 2012 F250, it's speedometer was off by 3%, but it was running over, 103 miles on the odometer for 100 miles travelled.
That meant that Ford was getting out of warranty 3000 miles early, but are on the opposite side with my current F250.
The other thing that happens when the actual miles are off is that it skews the fuel economy readouts and calculations.
So, mine have been off by about 1.7%, actually getting that much better fuel economy than I have been calculating.
Will have to add 1.7% to the miles to get closer to the correct MPG's.
Same with my 2019 F350, speedo / odometer are perfectly spot on. I've actually checked it a couple times as normally they are off just a tad, but not with the Ford.
After using gps and odometer to verify my mpg was off 2% off, i went into the computer bias and adjusted it accordingly.
Its very easy to do and anybody can change it without consequences.

have you changed tires at all? In forscan you can select the actual tire size you have. Mine was not correct when I got my ‘17.
