No Start Condition - Help
Hey, guys so I have a no-start condition. I had a water pump gasket blow so I replaced that, took off the front accessory pully mounts, only electrical thing I touched was the alternator. Put it all back together and the engine won't start. Cranks just fine. First time I cranked it after I put it back together there was a quick almost grinding noise, and smoke from the engine. Seemed pretty bad to me but I wasn't sure what it meant and I couldn't pinpoint where the smoke came from. It was really quick and it didn't do it again. The distributor is turning. I have tested for fuel and spark. I have good fuel flow and pressure, from my tests, I didn't have spark at the plugs and I had intermittent spark at the coil, the tester only sparked a couple of times. I tested the Ignition Control Module, I have 12V at on, 12V at ground, 12V at start, and the oscillating Voltage to the coil seems to be correct. I tested the coil, it is a new one that I just put in, resistance was around 8k which is right. I have no idea what is going on, it started and ran beautifully a few days ago.
Anyone got a clue what's happening here?
Thanks

I tested everything and eventually opened up the front of the engine to look at timing gears and chain. Camshaft timing gear had sheared off of the cam. So the cam is broken. Suspect a water pump bolt was jamming it. Trying to find out if anything else is destroyed. Sad day.
