When you say "no fire" do you mean won't start or has no spark as in you checked it already?
If won't start test for spark during the no start condition, if good spark is present test the fuel pressure at the rail during the no start condition.
One or the other is intermittent causing the problem, narrow down which one is lacking during the no start condition.
Could be as simple as a faulty coil, could be a dieing fuel pump. But start with the basics first find out if its spark or fuel related then go from there.
sorry , had no spark at plugs or coil wire mon roadside replaced coil 2 weeks ago wires are in decent shape plugs also popped cap off today and looks okay ,pump seems to prime when switch is turned on audible to the ear anyway have not hooked to a gauge yet ,thanks
Then I'd suspect the coil first, gets hot and quits working. Or even just a bad 12v+ battery connection to it, intermittent. Make sure the red wire at the coil is clean and tight.
If all that tests out in good working order then I'd start looking to the PIP sensor in the distributor as the possible cause of the problem.
