My F350 has a 3” receiver. I have a 2-1/2” Andersen Drop hitch that I use with a 3” to 2-1/2” reduction sleeve
My Current RV is. 5th wheel so I don’t use the hitch to tow my RV
i have towed a Grand Design 2800BH travel trailer using a Blue Ox WDH 7,800 lbs and It’s a long trailer.
iI’ve also towed these without a WDH
5x12 U-Haul trailer
3 Horse trailer with 2 horses loaded 8,500 lbs
24’ long Aluminum utility trailer with side by side loaded
I had a 2011 F250 with the 6.7 diesel. I have different sized ball mount slide ins for my 3 trailers so that each one rides level. I did install a set of Firestone air bags on the truck for when I was towing my 30' toy hauler. Now my new 2019 F350 is a different animal. 3" receiver and I had a custom 3" to 2" adapter made so that I could use all of my old ball mount slide ins. I did have to get a 10" drop ball mount slide in for my bass boat but I didn't have to install any air bags for the 30" toy hauler.
Ordered the truck, no idea of size. My first 250 would rather have overkill jic. Don’t tow regularly but want the right set up

Is it a diesel with the high capacity tow package? If the answer is yes you will have a 3" reciever, if the answer is no you will have a 2.5" reciever.
My advice is to find out what size the receiver will actually be. There have been guides posted on this forum showing which trucks are optioned with which hitch. Then I'd have the ball mounts match that size.
I know that a lot of people use reducing sleeves but I'm not a fan of them. An extra part to keep track of and to rattle around whether it be in the receiver or under the rear seat.
As an added bonus, friends with 2 inch receivers won't be able to borrow it.
We really need to know WTF you are talking about before answering such a vague question. Are you asking about the insert that slides into your bumper hitch? Are you asking about a gooseneck, fifth wheel, weight distributing??? What are you towing? What are the specs on the truck?
There are a million right answers to the question as asked. My truck came with a 2.5" receiver so I have three different inserts depending on the trailer. I have a 4" drop with a 2" ball, a 6" drop with a 2" ball and an 8" drop with a 2 5/16" ball as well as a B&W turnover ball hitch under the bed with a 2 5/16 gooseneck ball. All depends on your needs. I ordered my receiver inserts from e-trailer.com because the local places are so low on inventory. My inserts are all B&W and all of the trailer ***** are rated accordingly for what is being towed. Yes, trailer ***** have ratings, stamped right on top...
So get a hitch that fits your truck. Get the amount of drop you need for your trailer. Make sure the load capacity of the parts you fit meet your towing needs. Of you could get one of those adjustables with multiple ***** and multiple settings in one package. I do not use these because they always are loose, lots of people do not let that stop them. Good Luck

There's a lot of knowledge and talent on this forum. But I have yet to see mind reading as part of that.
I have a 2022 F250 without any extra trailer tow stuff, so I have the 2.5". I have the B&W 2 ball setup and like it. It does tuck away nicely, but read about EXACTLY how to do that, because its not obvious at 9pm in the dark the first time you use it... Now its easy though. The truck tows my flat bed trailer just fine. Probably 4,000lbs total, so the truck isn't even breaking a sweat really. Hope this helps because your original post was super vague.
