To confirm your motor is a roller you would need to remove a valve cover(drivers side is easiest), unbolt a rocker and remove the pushrod. Then there are 2 thing that can be observed.. the length of the pushrod and the presence or absence of a dogbone around the lifter. The pushrods in a 5.8 roller ar 7.57" long whereas a falt tappet motor uses 8.2" pushrods. The dogbone fork is visible through the pushrod hole with a small flashlight.
