Looking to see what everyone knows of, what you believe to be the best rust pre-venter. I don't want the rubberized undercoating because if you have to work on it, it's a dirty mess to deal with. I would like something I could use in a spray bottle or brush on. It would be a nice feature if it could "creep" into cracks etc. Also, if it were clear, it would be nice. But black is fine too. I live in the salt states.
Can't wait to find out what you are all using.
I have corrosion free professionally applied every 2 years, they recommend 18 months. They sell do it yourself products on there website. Mines a 2014 in Northwest Indiana no rust on it yet. https://corrosionfree.com/
I used corroseal on my whole chassis after wire wheeling and wire brushing the frame, axles, and leaf springs. I used it on some miscellaneous areas as well. I brushed it on and when it reacts with the rust it turns to a black surface. I tried spraying some only through a squirt bottle on the inside of my doors but it didnt work worth a sheet. I bought a gallon jug of it at the beginning of my build and it goes a long way. Probably still have 2/3rds of left. Anything that does not go on rust wont react. I cleaned it off before anything was painted. I just used the paint cup and a brush like in the picture so I could get into the nooks and crannies.
Sprayed with cosmoline today. Aerosol cans.
door drains and pinch welds included.
Sill area isn’t looking good. May do a second coat next weekend and avoid the underbody car wash this winter.
