I'm not in an alarmist mindset on this, but I'm curious if anyone has had this happen.
with moderate frequency when I attempt to start my truck I'll have to turn the key to start three times. The first two nothing happens then it always starts on the 3rd key turn.
Since my truck always starts on the third turn when it occurs, I'm not worried about it really, just more curious about others who have experience a similar occurence and if they found an easily accomplished fix
What happens if you turn key to start position and hold it there for a couple of seconds? FWIW, obviously this isn't proper and it will bite you if you ignore it. I would look at either the starter solenoid or the ignition switch. Most likely it's the ignition switch.
Keep in mind that on this truck, the ignition switch is simply an input to the PCM and the BCM to tell the vehicle electronics what the driver wants. After that, it's up to the vehicle's electronics to do everything.
