What connector is this?
driver side frame rail, right behind front bumper

I believe factory fog lights are powered through that connector.

Correct. Along with some other features. But that is what I used it for, to add fogs to my STX.

ok, sounds good, but what adapter did you use to connect to a 16 pin port?
where can I find the pin mapping for it? and which options it enables?

From: Lost in the Ozone....
I bought the OEM harness that connects to it and then to the fog lights. I used an aftermarket harness that converted the OEM to standard aftermarket
Pin Out here:
3 = 12v
6 = Ground Headlamp Panel Left
10 = Left Fog
11 = Right Fog
12 = CanBus High Speed 2 (Upper) Low
13 = CanBus High Speed 2 (Upper) High
14 - Ground Headlamp Panel Right

hopefully, the pin position is same on a '22... I'm having hell finding the correct OEM part number ...

The connector is a molex mx150. You can either buy the pins separately or the whole connector easily...
Use a set of doubpe crimp pliers obviously...

So once you connect them up, how do you turn them on from the inside?

by swapping out the headlamp control with one that has a fog light button
