Howdy,
While driving my awesome old truck, my drivers side mirror FELL OFF! I turned around and dodged traffic to pick up the mirror. I’m sure the folks driving by thought I was crazy running out onto the highway to pick up my mirror!
Anyway, I need input as how to remove the driver side door panel to replace the mirror.
The bolts that hold the mirror go in from the front of the door. You don't have to remove any panels, unless you want to remove the lower access to retrieve the broken piece.
I ordered a replacement mirror from Dennis Carpenter. I see the two bolts for the mirror, just hope the broken piece doesn’t fall into the door when I remove the bolts. The broken piece rattling around in the door will drive me crazy.
😜
Is that a factory bracket? I remember those being heavy gauge steel.
At least in 1966 it was a chrome plated die cast part. Back in the 70's the driver side one broke on the truck that my dad bought new. I made a replacement out of steel and just painted it.
