First time down here in the full size van thread. I have a 2010 E350 with 5.4motor, xlt cargo van with 42k miles. Last night it shut down while driving and will not start now, a local mechanic who I do a bunch of work for drove to my shop this morning and with his snap on scanner pulled two codes. One is anti theft and the second was pats communication lost. He told me something is wrong with the key/column or the anti theft (pats) system? Problem is he couldn't help me any further because he doesn't have the proper software to dig deeper or sync the new parts if needed.
Is there anything I can do to fix this myself or am I screwed? Local ford dealer where I bought the van told me they are two weeks out and the second closest ford dealer told me they are backed up by almost a month!! Three local mom and pop type mechanics told me they don't have the software either to fix my problem
You might try posting this same question in the Electrical & WIring OR General Automotive Conversation sub-forums---I've rarely seen any issues relating to a PATS in this sub-forum.
