I'll check it out. I have a rebuilt distributor and if I get time tomorrow I'm going to give it a try.

Be aware those rebuilt distributors are not what they may appear to be. It may have fresh paint and little else. Many times the "rebuilder" never tests the PIP sensor so you may have a dud out of the box or a short fuse before you are left stranded.

You are correct rla2005, I put the rebuilt distributor in today and it runs worse. I think I will put a motor craft pickup in my old distributor. Today I located the computer pin 20,40 and 60 pin grounds and cleaned all but the 20 pin ground. It is grounded to the driver side inner fender with the screw run in before the fender was put on. I think I can get to it though. I cleaned several other body grounds also. If the pickup doesn't do it I'm going to check computer for bad capacitors. I found out today on the road if you push the go pedal to the floor it quits skipping and takes of real strong. The oxygen sensor was bad and replaced but the plug is in bad shape. I have a new pigtail to put on next. maybe that will help.
