Help with no start after shifter stuck
Did a lot of research and pulled things apart, figured out how to unlock the shifter (pulling out on the solenoid) and have pulled off the shift cable from the lever shift lever and it moves (very easily - not sure if that is correct or if I am supposed to feel detents) I think the popping was the nylon ball popping out of the track on the shift linkage, which is strange, as nothing was loose, but I put it back together and am now able to move the shifter and cable as normal (though i have removed the park lock solenoid) This solonoid does not click in or out with the brake pedal is depressed, but the braked lights do come on when depressing the pedal, so I don't think it is the switch on the pedal. With the solenoid out, I keep trying to get the starter to engage while moving the shifter into park and neutral, thinking maybe the switch down on the transmissions was misaligned. Then I tried the battery disconnect for about 30 minutes, thinking this might help, but still nothing.
There are three wires running into the solenoid and another three running from it up to what is probably a park interlock switch, which I have not figured out how to remove. So before I go ripping anything else apart, I though I would ask the forum for their thoughts and for any help.
Thank you
