Alternator ID
A question for the more electronically inclined. I have an alternator from a 1985 E350 #x60A E1TFAA L18B. I am assuming x60A means it is a 60amp? I think it is a 1G and I need an external regulator. Am I on the right track??I did not take it apart from the truck it came off and I am finding different wiring schematics. It is a 460- c6 from a 85 E350 RV . Thank you Dean

IG have the main power wire attached with a nut on the back. 2G has built in regulator on back and 2 plug in wires on side/top for main power. 2G should be avoided since high amps could melt power wire plug due poor design at connection. The 60A does sound right.

Thanks 5851a, the back has studs marked STA , BAT, FLD, GRD. All on the back nothing on the side. I had it tested a few years ago but didn't know to ask what it was. As I get closer to wiring I need to figure it out. Thanks Dean
