Oh the fuel rail blower? I don't know much about them. My truck doesn't have one. I believe it only comes on after you shut down.

I forget when, but at some point they switched to a fuel rail heat shield between the manifold and the rail, and got rid of the fan.

Obviously vapor lock was an issue, they did have a fan, but i think i was mainly after the engine was shut down because the gasoline wasn't flowing through the rail to cool it. I believe they even upped the pressure and put in smaller injectors to help this problem too.

honestly, i'm stumped. wish i could be more help

Well, with a problem like this I didn't really expect anyone to have the TRUE answer. In all reality I just wanted some input from you guys on possible causes, because I don't believe I will be seeing this problem again anytime soon unless I CREATE the exact same scenario. Thanks for all the input though!

I'm thinking the TFI coil, too, based on my experiences and others' I've heard from in these forums. Though my intermittant coil failures were during the rain... But the TFI module could be the culprit.

TFI coils have a bad reputation. TFI modules just go bad in time.

Best,

The coil one of my tractors would do this, it would get hot and the tractor would sound like it was losin fuel, so I'd get off and clean the screen, cause there was rust in the tank also, but that tricky sun of gun would start agian b/c the coil cooled down while I was messin w/ the fuel screen, but I finally found the colpult, so I converted the system to 12 volt and redid the wiring, it's a 1951 Farmall H which I use for light stuff and I pull it in the stock class at various tractor pulls during the summer. I still wanna built up my 300 for the truck pull to show up some V-8's at half the RPM.

Well... I don't need many excuses to spend money "upgrading" my truck, so I'll probably look into a new coil (or better yet an upgraded ignition system). I appreciate the responses and welcome any others that I can get! Thanks guys. Hey what does a new TFI module cost? Ballpark figure of course.
