1993 F 150 4x4 A/T. 85k original miles, 99% of parts are original. The problem I'm having is 2-fold...first is when I come to a stop, then accelerate (say, onto a highway merge) the truck stumbles. I feels like when I depress the gas, it'll feel like its going to stall out, but it does not. Kind of scary, when you need to merge into traffic. Could this bee an Idle Air Sensor?
Secondly, after the truck comes up to temp, when it is re-started, it has a VERY hard time restarting...give it about 10 mins and it'll restart. Additionally, if you step on the gas pedal (trying to get it to restart) all the way to the floor, it'll restart. Any ideas on that one? Thanks in advance!
Hmm, the easiest thing to do is take Idle Air Control(IAC) off and clean it.
Second, get a volt meter, test both IAC and TPS, need to be within specific specs.
Now, if you floor it, all the way down, your telling the computer to stop injecting fuel, as in its flooded.
You may have other issues, specifically stuck open injectors.
