Have a 91 Bronco w/Tilt, and had a shop replace the turn signal switch. Now the #5 fuse keeps blowing, which controls the turn signals, overdrive, and rear defroster. I've had it back to the shop 4 times, but they're saying it's installed properly and it's probably the wiring harness.. I think the shop has it wired wrong or piched something. Any thoughts on this would be arrpeciated!
Thanks, Steve.
I doubt it's a wiring problem. They probably didn't adjust the "whiskers" on the switch properly. Did they install a complete Ford turn signal switch, or just an aftermarket turn signal cam?
Hey thanks for the replies & the switch pic! That Help switch looks like junk...
The correct fuse is being used, and the switch came direct from the local Ford Dealer. Is there any way to check for proper whisker alignment? Also, The tilt lever hangs/snaps occasionally when raising the wheel from the lowest position
Maybe the switch is bad?
The Ford switch should be aligned before it's sold, so now I'm leaning toward a wiring fault. It's easy to pinch the TS wiring in the tilt mechanism, the lower collar, or even the plastic shroud, so pull the wheel & the shroud and look around for obvious chafing.
