What Engine do you have?

A V10 transmission should work, bell housing is the same with 5.4 but 5.4 internals aren't strong enough.

Diesel has a different housing.

The newer trans can be modified to work. You DO need to match the engine. As pointed out above, the diesel has a unique bellhousing. The 5.4L trans has weaker internals and the V10 will tear it up.

The solenoid body is different and needs to be changed. Also, there is an orifice in the pump body that needs to be changed. The later trans has a 0.250" hole, and the earlier trans has a 0.030 orifice. You need to change from the hole to the orifice or the torque converter clutch lockup will SLAM on.

Thank you, so i can use the newer 4r100 if I change the solenoid body with the old one and changed the orifice size I'll be good? What about the torque converter the older torque converter has one clutch and the new torque converter has three I do believe so should I change torque converters also

You would be better off with the older converter.
