So I have a 93 5.8 I just picked up. It will always start very good when cold. But the problem I have is that when it is at operating temperature, it doesn’t start.
When cranking while it’s the engine is warm, it sounds like the battery is out of almost juice. It has very slow cranks and the cranks are out of sync.
I don’t understand why it wouldn’t do it while it is cold?
Could it possibly be loose timing chain that gets hot and expands? The engine has 350k km/217k miles
Have the battery tested if you do not know how old it is. Then inspect every battery cable connection. This includes the ends at the battery, solenoid, starter and most important the grounds especially the engine block ground. Take off each connection and clean it. Look closely for signs of corrosion under the insulation, very common issue on these old trucks.
