Anyone ever run across this before? After reading posts from this forum, I decided to replace the shcosk on my 1995 Explorer Eddie Bauer with Monroe Reflex's. I ordered the parts online. No problem with the rear shocks. However, when I went to replace the front ones, the shocks I had ordered looked nothing like the originals on the vehicle. After doing some research, come to find out that the original Motorcraft shocks on my vehicle are 4 wheel drive shocks. Problem is, my vehicle is a 2-wheel drive!
The store where I bought the shocks will replace the ones I ordered with the 4-wheel drive fitment, so that is not a problem. Just wondering if anyone else had run across this or heard of anyone who has. Don't know if there was some screw up at the assembly plant where they mixed parts between 2 and 4 wheel drive units or what. Bizarre!
