I've seen it done on Detroit diesels in buses. If it's got negligible savings and gross carbon impact then it's kind of just a look what I can do type of thing.. You basically have to get it for free where ever you plan to go for it to be economical and "green".

i plan on it being a supplement for regular diesel to help offset the rising cost as i did back in 08 but with household grease and WMO, not a full on replacement unless i find a restaurant that can meet my fueling needs but even then ill probably try to maintain about a 60/40 ratio or thereabouts to help with viscosity issues with the fuel pump ...

I use it exclusively on my DD 2-71 genset, seems to run just as good on the old cooking oil as it does on diesel. I do get it free, just collect when I have time, and dump it in a big 500 gallon tote. It settles naturally during the year, and I just pump from the top 10 inches into a fifty-five gallon drum, where it settles some more. I run a dual racor 1000 setup using 2 micron filters. Plumbed in an old mercruiser big block oil cooler into radiator, that acts as my fuel heater to reduce viscosity. I get the engine warmed up on diesel, then switch it over to veggie once that heat exchanger warms up. That damn Detroit will run on anything, cooking oil, hydraulic fluid, old car oil....I think it would run on flip-flops if I could get them into the tank.
Diesel is over 4$ a gallon here in the islands. The veggie oil is free. I gotta change that veggie racor 1000 filter about every 35 hours running time, and the racor is 10$. My public schoolin math says its a win.

thanks for the info on your set up.... also where did you get the 500 gallon tote?

I can't speak for FDF, but I got my 55-gallon barrels for free. Back in the mid-2000's when WVO was really kicking off, the dirty secret about getting free barrels was sweet talking the manager of a car wash to give you a few barrels. They have lots of barrels, and usually have trouble unloading them.
I've considered running WVO in my truck. I thought about running an auxiliary fuel tank in the toolbox/bed. It would definitely be an attention getter at the local cars & coffee.

Do it. Once you get over the 2nd-tank installation and filtration-setup investment, it's really cheap fuel. Also, WVO exhaust smells a hell of a lot better than diesel. A lot less toxic.
FTE has an alternative fuels subforum. I used to be on it a lot, but then greasin' died off from 2013-now, and hopefully things will return to the discourse.

I once saw a sample letter online you could use to solicit used veggie oil from a local restaurant. There's a local Tex Mex restaurant I frequent that I've thought about asking for some of their used oil.
Here are links to the FTE and Oil Burners alternative fuels forums. I like to browse threads and daydream from time to time.
