Howdy... I have an issue with the rear sliding window on 2017 F-350. I noticed last week as we were towing the camper up to Fort Worth that there was a lot of wind noise coming from the back seat area. I finally figured out that it was coming from around the rear sliding window. From the outside, the seal is not compressed around the top 1/4 of the window. On the inside, there are two tracks (bottom and top) that the window slides in. The top track has separated from the back wall of the truck cab. (See picture below). What I want to validate is how this top track is attached. I don't want to make it worse and pull it all the way off at this point.... It appears to be attached with adhesive / glue vs any type of fastener.
This happened on my fathers 2017. No need for a window replacement. The top track is held on with 3 or 4, 4 inch strips of 3m double sided trim tape. Went to the local auto parts store and bought a roll for $10, pulled the top track completely off, removed the old tape strips, ran a new strip across the whole track and stuck it back together, holds better than new now.
It looks like it can be the back window leaking, especially if it's a sliding type. So, I guess you can start with replacing the stripping and seals around it if you haven't done it already.
I know this is an old thread but this just happened to my husbands truck and they are saying our PremiumCARE warranty wont cover it. How did they code it to get it approved? Do you know? Thanks.
Hi! My husband's 2017 F350 is having this issue. How did you get the dealership to cover under warranty? They are saying it's not covered under our Premium warranty which is good until December. They want to charge $1100 to fix it. The truck has 20,000 miles on it...

The PremiumCare is not as comprehensive as the factory bumper to bumper warranty. The others in this thread may have had it covered while still under the b to b warranty. You could try another dealership, but if they too say it's not covered then the method used in post 6 might be the way to go.

Update My husband called the dealeship back and it is now going to be covered!

This has happened on my 2017 F250. Do you know the thickness of the trim tape he bought?

easy fix for a auto glass shop without replacing the window. Or fix yourself with 3M professional strength tape (thin), you can get at home depot. I use tape and urethane.
I have fixed about 20 of these, mostly on the 2015 and 2016 f150s. The track bonds to the glass and needs to be clean and prepped with alcohol

thanks for that gem. Same thing happened to my 2017 F250 crew. Not every auto parts store had the tape but found it at NAPA. They also had 3M windo-weld and I grabbed a tube just in case but the tape has worked great. Quick easy and cheap. Thanks a lot!!
