My Ares prybar set (recommended above) arrived while I was eating lunch today. Went out with a microfiber cloth wrapped around the head of the tool (I guess you could just insert and give it a good yank, but I was able to rotate the tool easily using the wheel for leverage - not using a soft cloth might result in some marring of the wheel otherwise) and less than 10 seconds later the rear center cap was off. Just used the middle size tool, it only took one. Very easy, very simple, and a tool that is easily stowed in the truck. I'll get the rear balance masters on this evening it seems.
Yes, removed all weights and not impressed with the leftovers. Everyone has broke through the plastic coating with 2 really nice gouges in the rims from how they were installed at factory. Wondering if there is anything to put on them to prevent the corrosion from kicking in. 5 months old and already have rims that are not in prestine shape.
Had this happen at our tire shop. Seems they can't get the caps off either. They had them sent out for re-finishing, but the shiny aluminum seems to be a duller version of shiny, but they did what they could. Besides not having some jackass working for them that's just to bang **** up as they go.
