Agreed. Mine are off along with my auto wipers.... just like every other vehicle that I've owned with them for the last 10+ years. There are a million things a computer and sensors can do better than me. These two don't make the list....

In my opinion there should be a "hard" key or botton on the turn signal indicator stalk for a proper auto high beam fitted vehicle. I am often at the extreme left menu, scrolling while driving to settings is not desirable. This Ford system is the worst I've experienced, deactivated after the first night, tried later with same impression. It is spaztic, a person following may think I am in seizure or not of right mind. To add information, when my plow is attached the system is unavailable.

Honestly, I really don't see the problem, turn them off when you want, turn them on if you want them on auto,. In city driving, when there are city street lights, they hardly ever come on. When there is oncoming traffic, they just don't, when your on the back roads and highways they come on and off as needed, you maximize the time with high beams on.. Are they an issue in fog and heavy snow, yes, they can come on after a truck or car passes. Then turn them off manually each time if its for a bit, or off permanently while in these conditions. I actually like them from day one, I drove my new truck home at -20 C, in a snow storm with blowing snow, I had to turn them off a bit until I was stopped to go into the menu for the rest of the trip. It's a new truck, I am not searching while diving. Since I have done 6500 km and they have been on for all of it. No real issues. YMMV

Yeah i'm not a fan of the flashing either. I had a situation where i came off the free way and my high beans turned on as soon as i turned left, at that exact moment i passed an ambulance and my high beams turned off shortly after. No big deal but still, i'd want to avoid that all together. Like many mentioned, they turn on in areas i would never manually use high beams at.
