No Reverse Lights

No Reverse Lights
I've replaced the bulbs, checked the fuse, and replaced the back up switch. I still don't have reverse lights working yet. I put a paper clip into the female connector that connects to the switch, and got only my left reverse light to come on. If I put in a new switch, why would the one reverse light not come on at least?

I took the switch out and plugged the connector back into it, then I pressed onto the ball to activate the switch myself and the one reverse light came on, so why isn't me shifting into reverse engaging the switch? Manual transmission.

I had replaced me reverse light switch and was still having problems with them not coming on. I kid you not, I banged on the sideboard under the dash for the hood release, and it came on. Maybe pull the board and check the wiring under it.
