So I know they're available because I've seen them on several trucks now, but where are guys getting the different colored Ford/F-150 emblems for their trucks? My wife wants black ones on her Abyss Gray F150.

Thanks!
They’re available from different places so just Google painted F150 emblems.
Also from the factory, some F150’s came with black emblems as part of an option package so you can look into that as well.
The cheapest route would be to remove the the emblems and paint them yourself.

I hope this info helps you out.
Came across the factory ones. Can someone explain why some sellers are saying the front emblem doesn't fit the Base XLT grille? I'd rather NOT paint them myself.
Bump for a bit of help on my last question, why do some sellers say the front emblem doesn't fit the Base XLT grille, and what is different?
p/n I'm looking at is LL3Z-9942528-B
I cant speak to the base XLT grille for certain, but on my XL grille, the emblem was smaller than the blacked out new replacement. The new black emblem had a black outer trim ring molded with it and it measured roughly 11 1/2 inches across. The base emblem is only the Ford oval and sits inside a pocket that takes the place of the trim on the new black emblem. it was just over 9 inches across. I know that probably doesnt make much sense, but thats the best way I can describe it I guess. However, the part number you listed does fit the STX grille which is what I went with anyway.

I think the XL and XLT base grilles are the same, the two 'bars' across the center. This is the grille my wife has on her truck and she doesn't want it changed. Which is why I was hoping the emblem in the package would work for this application.
It sounds like if I'm going to do this I will have to modify something, or attempt to find aftermarket ones (which is a literal crapshoot, information on most aftermarket ones is spotty at best).
You can take the emblem apart and finish it any way you like. Then you reassemble it and put it back on the truck. There are surely videos on YouTube about this.
I watched a video last night on how to color match side emblems. I think I’m going to try I have a custom mixed spay can of magnetic
I have had the plastidip for 2 years now an thy staring to peel. It’s worth a try.

This was going to be christmas for my wife, where I simply went out and switched the emblems on her. This was meant to be a quick surprise, not me going out and mucking around for hours in the garage trying not to mess it up while having her truck apart for several hours. I can R&R any mechanical component, but I can't paint for crap. I thought I pointed that out earlier.
In the kit that includes the two emblems, can the trim ring be easily removed? Or is it molded to the emblem? If it is molded to the emblem it sounds like I can't do this for her without changing her grille to a grille she doesn't like.

Nope, but you made it clear now. So noted. Best of luck to you.
