I have a 2020 F250 Platinum that has a plug on either side behind the running boards attached to the frame. I have seen videos of people buying the adapter and plugging them in at these locations and they work fine. I plugged in on the passenger side and it worked great. Plugged in a drivers side and no power. Checked with volt meter no power when door is open on the drivers side.
Any idea why it may not be working? Anyone have the wiring diagram for these plugs or know what fuse may be associated with the drivers side plug?
Thanks for the help.
Kevin

how are you testing that specific connector? Also I had a company, Boosted gray goose make me a connector for each side. The connectors are different starting in 2020 i believe. or tap directly to wires.
I would double check to confirm no voltage to drivers side.. probe / wires crossed?

I used the plug recommended by most. I plugged in on the passenger side and it worked fine. Removed and moved to drivers side just to be sure and nothing. I plugged in the connector and using by meter checked the pigtails from the connector and nothing with the door opening and boards going down.
Boosted gray goose? what did the connector look like? Do you have a link? I will double check the factor connector again when I get home just to be sure. Seems like somehow that side is not getting power for some reason.

Why does he need to buy a connector he already has? Did you read his post at all? Good God this forum is so unhelpful sometimes...
It should get power if either door opens. Should be triggered by the ecu. Have you thrown a meter on it? Troubleshooting without a meter is troubleshooting blindly.

I'll try and dig up a diagram?
I did it had zero volts or micro voltage on the line when I checked before where the passenger side reads 12+ volts. So I know something is not connected anymore or maybe never was. I figured if I had the wiring diagram I could check all of the plugs to see and troubleshoot from there.
Just curious if the pin on the truck side connector is fully seated in the factory connector. Might have backed out a bit and isn't making contact with your pigtail.

Good God man - did you happen to read either? He said he checked it with a multi-meter
Why did Ford remove the plug on the newer model 250's?!? I have 22 F250 Lariat Tremor and these quick access plugs do not exist. I did find a YT video that says to search under the door sill wire bundle for a gray / violet trace for (+) and black w/ yellow trace for (-)....I found what I thought to be the gray / violet but when you hook up a multimeter there's 12v dc regardless of the map lights being on or off....Wondering what new build folks are doing here.
