Tint isn't that hard to put on, give it another shot!
Just make sure the glass is CLEAN!! And use a water bottle with a few drops of Ivory dish soap to squeege the film. Cut the film a few inches big and trim at the very end. On the other hand, if its just the rear window, a tint shop shouldn't charge more than $20-30. Good luck!
Maybe try removing the window and tinting it that way? I've done it on two trucks now, it isn't that hard. That includes all the windows; door, wing, quarter (supercab) and rear. Took about a day to do them all. Making sure the winows are absolutely clean and using a lot of water (with a little soap added) will produce great results.
