stuck... my roommate has a 2005 F250 he's had two fans put in it we know that the last fan was installed improperly and grabbed the wires ripped them out of the clutch since then deers no crank no start all the dash lights are on glow plug light never turns off it seems like there's no power anywhere the company came to look at it and says the scanner isn't saying anything everything points like if it's a bad starter but the starters good could the bad fan trigger the EC you to shut down for

Have you tried to turn the starter using the wire under the hood, making sure you have the key turned off? If the starter doesn't turn, either that wire you're holding in your hand is bad, or the fat power wire or ground wire on the starter is bad, or the starter itself is bad, or the engine is locked up, although you'd prolly still hear the starter trying to turn it..

If the starter does spin, then make sure the truck is in Park or Neutral, turn the key on, then use that wire under the hood to turn the starter again. If the engine fires up, you know your problem is in the starter/ignition circuit, probably some wire grounded that blew a relay or fuse. If the engine doesn't start, even while turning, then proceed to Step 2 in the diagnostic process.

One of the fuses under your dash, I don't remember which sorry, is a power supply to the data port. If that fuse is blown, a scanner won't see any data. So get a test light and start checking those fuses. That SHOULD solve that problem. Once you get codes post them up so we can see what else is going on. B.
